Woven Gabion Wire Mesh
Produced from double-twisted hexagonal steel wire (4.7mm diameter,
Zn-10%Al-MMO coating, 280g/m²) with 100x120mm apertures, this mesh
forms modular units (2.4m x1m x0.5m) for riverbank armoring in
high-sediment environments. Units feature reinforced edge binding
(6.0mm wire) and horizontal cross-wires (4.5mm) spaced at 900mm
intervals to stabilize 80-200mm fractured granite infill.
Galvanized steel lacing pins (5mm) secure mesh joints, while
integrated 80mm PVC drainage tubes at the base mitigate hydrostatic
pressure in clay-based embankments. Complies with ASTM A975-21 for
hydraulic structures, with optional zinc-aluminum alloy sacrificial
anodes (ASTM B418) for saltwater interface zones. The open-weave
design permits natural vegetation growth through mesh voids in
riparian restoration projects.
